Lions sign RB for Raiders game, Amon-Ra St. Brown expected to play

DETROIT — Amon-Ra St. Brown is expected to play tonight against Las Vegas, despite feeling under the weather enough to be downgraded to questionable over the weekend. That’s obvious good news for a Lions offense that relies on him more than any other skill player, and more than twice as much as any other receiver.
He won’t be the only weapon at Jared Goff’s disposal, either.
The Lions have also signed running back Devine Ozigbo off the practice squad, while elevating offensive lineman Michael Niese from the practice squad for the night. Ozigbo improves the numbers in the offensive backfield, where David Montgomery has already been ruled out because of a rib injury for the second straight week.
Ozigbo was elevated from the practice squad for the last two games, and has four touches for 13 yards.
As for Niese, he’s a second-year offensive lineman out of Temple who has never appeared in an NFL game. He’ll provide some insurance up front, where left guard Jonah Jackson (anke) has been ruled out, center Frank Ragnow (calf/toe) is doubtful and right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai (back) is questionable.
