Bears fans can’t believe Velus Jones is still on the roster after embarrassing dropped TD

Things have been as ugly as possible for Velus Jones Jr. during his first two seasons with the Chicago Bears, and that culminated in a national blunder that left NFL fans laughing and Bears fans demanding change.

WIth the Bears falling behind early in the first half, there was the perfect opportunity for Chicago’s offense to close the gap in the second quarter. Rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent saw a wide open Jones streaking to the end zone. Only when he pulled the trigger, Jones lost his footing in the end zone and dropped a touchdown.

While the Bears offense would go on to score on that drive — an 11-yard rushing score by Darrynton Evans — Jones’ drop spoke to a bigger issue. The fact that general manager Ryan Poles used a third-round pick on Jones is laughable.

As you can imagine, Bears fans had plenty to say about Jones’ egregious drop in the end zone, which for some brought back memories of another failed receiver in Chicago. Simply put: How the heck is Jones still on this roster?

from his being drafted, to the continual mistakes, to the politics of him continuing to be rostered because he was a 3rd-round pick, is a prime example of why ryan poles cannot run this bears team for another season.
