‘Fulham are not missing much to be back right’
Fulham #Fulham
Former Spurs and Fulham defender Stephen Kelly believes the Cottagers are “not missing much” and bringing in a reliable goalscorer in January “will fix a lot of problems”.
Marco Silva’s side drew a blank in Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Tottenham and sit 13th in the Premier League after nine games with only Crystal Palace and Bournemouth having scored fewer than their nine goals.
“Raul Jimenez is not who he was before the injury,” Kelly told BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast.
“He was a wonderful forward for Wolves but that bad bang to the head can have a massive dent on his confidence and he hasn’t recovered from that yet. He’s still got loads of talent and ability and maybe Marco Silva can bring that out of him but he wasn’t going to come in and be that instant fix for goals that Mitrovic was.
“Fulham are not missing much to be back right because holding onto Joao Palhinha was so important – probably the signing of the season last season, absolutely sensational.
“Keeping him is huge and then adding in the January window – if they can get a striker in it will fix a lot of problems.”
