EAST LANSING – Michigan State will be without one of its top offensive linemen the rest of the night.
Starting right tackle Spencer Brown was called for a personal foul and ejected with 9:49 left in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Michigan.
Brown was flagged for diving helmet-first and spearing Michigan’s Braiden McGregor. That penalty occurred as Michigan State’s Katin Houser was intercepted by Mike Sainristil, who returned it 72 yards for a touchdown to give the Wolverines a 35-0 lead.
Brown has started at right tackle in all seven games this season and briefly played at left tackle on Saturday night. The Spartans (2-4, 0-3), brought a four-game skid into the game while the No. 2 Wolverines (7-0, 4-0) have dominated and appear headed to their second straight win in the rivalry.
