RICHARD Madeley has apologised after being blasted over his “disgusting” questions to a Good Morning Britain guest over the Hamas horror.

The TV presenter left Lib Dem MP Layla Moran speechless on Tuesday morning when he asked her if she knew anything about the terror attack in Israel BEFORE unrest erupted.

Richard asked Ms Moran, MP for Oxford West & Abingdon: “With your family connections in Gaza, did you have any indication of what was going to happen ten days ago, two weeks ago?

“Was there any word on the street?”

The stunned MP replied: “Not this, not this.

“Everyone, everyone has been surprised first of all by the timing and sophistication and they way that it’s happened.

“What I will say is that I’ve been warning, and others have in Parliament as well for a number of years now, that if we don’t find a way… People say ‘go back to the negotiating table’.

“The fact of the matter is there has not been a table, let alone to go back to a negotiating table for at least ten years.

“This is a cycle of violence. My worry now is that this is radicalising another generation on all sides.

“We have to stop this hatred. We have to bring people together and find a way through.

“Peace is harder than war. It’s harder.”

Viewers have since demanded Richard is “pulled off air” for asking such a “dumb” and “insensitive” question.

A Good Morning Britain (GMB) spokesperson has now said Richard’s intentions were to “understand the mood and atmosphere” in Gaza – not to cause upset.

A statement read: “Richard is sorry that he has upset viewers with his question to Layla Moran.

“His intention was to understand the mood and atmosphere amongst the civilian population of Gaza immediately before the attacks.

“He asked Layla about her family in Gaza City because she had discussed speaking to them earlier in the interview.

“He did not mean to imply that she or her family might have had any prior knowledge of the attacks.”

Hundreds were killed and dozens taken hostage when Hamas gunmen burst across the border on paragliders and motorbikes on October 7.

Hamas terrorists armed with guns, grenades and knives killed entire families in their beds.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas had beheaded soldiers, raped women, shot children in the head and burned people alive during their horror attacks on Israel.

Some 40 babies and kids were killed – some beheaded – in one town.

Ms Moran became the first British-Palestinian MP when she was elected in 2017 and has family stranded in a church in Gaza City.

The politician says her family have “no food and no water” and “have nowhere to go”.

She added: “I don’t believe that it is right that my family are being held accountable for what Hamas has done.”

It’s understood Layla Moran appreciated the interview and said she would love to go back GMB.
