Big Brother 2023’s housemates are causing carnage in the house, with two people in particular taking centre stage: Farida and Kerry. But who actually is Kerry, and what is there to know about her age, career, family life and more?

Big Brother Kerry’s age

Kerry is 40 years old, and took great offence to Farida, who is 50, suggesting they were a similar age.

During Thursday [12 October] night’s episode, Farida and Kerry are talking to Olivia about cosmetic procedures. Gesturing to Kerry, Farida said, “Our generation never did it. We weren’t aware.”

To which Kerry turned to Jenkin and said, “I’ve never felt so old. Our generation?”

Big Brother Kerry’s job

Kerry is an NHS Manager and lives in Essex. Her full name is Kerry Riches.

What condition does Big Brother Kerry’s have?

Kerry has multiple sclerosis (MS), with common symptoms including tiredness, vision problems and problems with walking or balance. “The reason why I never applied [for Big Brother] before is because I always saw those whacking great big stairs to get into the house,” she explained.

“It just felt a little bit unachievable because for the first three years of my illness I was in a wheelchair. When I saw it was coming back and searching for real people from all walks of life, I thought, this is my year.”

Big Brother Kerry’s family life

Kerry says her family would describe her as “a lot of fun. I’m a bit of a force to be reckoned with. I’m a doer and I’m quite competitive. My husband always says that even my whisper is a normal person’s talking voice.”

If she won Big Brother, she says her dream would be to “take all of my family to see Mickey Mouse in Disneyland.”

Has Big Brother’s Kerry been on TV before?

In her Big Brother entrance interview, Kerry revealed she once appeared on Deal ir No Deal with Noel Edmonds, and won a load of money. Sharing a fun fact about herself, she said, “I am the biggest Arsenal fan ever. I’m not sure people would expect that from me but I love everything about Arsenal, from the invincible days right up to where we are now. I was also once on Deal or No Deal and won £35,000.”

How Kerry would describe herself

“I’m quite plugged in and I’ve got quite a bit of emotional intelligence so I think I’ll know if someone is having rubbish day and we’ll have a chat,” Kerry said in her introductory interview. “I’m quite inquisitive and nosy. I’m also really, really looking forward to the challenges and the tasks.”
