MICHAEL BEALE only has himself to blame for Rangers’ current predicament, according to Michael Stewart.

The pundit reckons the Light Blues’ boss recruitment is the main reason he finds himself clinging on to his job.

Once again, the deafening boos rang around Ibrox as the Gers fell to a 3-1 home defeat to Aberdeen.

It was another horror outing for Beale and his squad who have now suffered THREE defeats already in just seven Premiership games this season.

Crucially, it leaves Rangers trailing Celtic by seven points already with St Mirren also above them in the table.

The pressure has well and truly ramped-up on Beale and Michael Stewart reckons it’s his own fault.

Beale oversaw a major overhaul of the Rangers squad this summer, taking control of recruitment following the exit of sporting director Ross Wilson.

Sportscene pundit Stewart reckons it is that recruitment that is to blame for the Gers struggles.

He insists that the players that have come in simply aren’t good enough.

Asked if Beale can turn things around, Stewart told the BBC programme: “It’s going to be difficult because the momentum is well and truly going against him and his side.

“To be perfectly honest, he’s only really got himself to blame because Ross Wilson left the club before, he’s the one who’s been in control of recruitment and it’s the recruitment and the poor players that have come in that have left him in this situation.

“They created enough opportunities and they couldn’t score. You let guys like Colak go out the door in the summer who, in my opinion, is better than what they’ve got.

“That’s poor decision making from the manager that’s affecting the team on the park. You score early in that game, then the game takes care of itself.

“The performance last week against Motherwell wasn’t good enough either, they scored four against Livingston – the first one was very fortuitous which allowed them to get a bit of a rhythm going.

“They’re going to be under huge pressure and as I said, the recruitment has been the key issue in all of this.”
