He has been out of work since leaving his role at Chelsea caretaker boss in May.
The former Chelsea and Everton boss appeared on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football and admitted his time away from the game has given his some perspective and the opportunity to recharge with his family.
He said: “It’s important to find time out of the game to recharge a bit and do things you don’t get the chance to do when you’re working.
“It’s not always easy because you want to be the best you can be but when you’re out of a job, that’s your time away to take some perspective and realise family is a real positive of that side.”
However, when discussing Lampard’s appearance, Jordan was quick to provide a scathing assessment of the 45-year-old’s time in football management.
“Frank doesn’t say a lot full-stop in interviews, he doesn’t give you much insight,” Jordan told talkSPORT. “The insight he’s given us is he’s had two opportunities to manage in the Premier League at the top and at the bottom and neither one could he do.
“So with that in mind, I’m not quite sure where he lands. If we’re talking Frank Lampard as a football manager rather than Frank Lampard as a football player, he has done very little.
“I made an observation 18 months ago that I felt he would go on to be a very good manager and eclipse Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Now that’s not much of a standard bearer to benchmark it against but the point is I don’t quite know where Frank Lampard is as a manager.
When pressed on whether the former Chelsea and Everton boss should be a leading candidate for the Rangers job, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan was ruthless in his reply whilst sending the Scottish giants a warning.
“I’m not sure Frank Lampard would be the right fit,” he added. “It’s about someone being able to get hold of Rangers and use all the energy and vitality of that football club and turn it into a positive force.

“What basis would I be looking at Frank Lampard? I don’t think he did a particularly good job towards the end at Chelsea. At Derby he didn’t get them to the promised land after having opportunities to take top players into the Championship on loan.
“He goes to Everton, he didn’t have the toolkit. He may have kept them up by the skin of his teeth the first time round but when it came on top, Frank Lampard would have got them relegated.
“So is that Rangers stumbling upon a winner? Someone that can galvanise the club because they lucked out once with the [Steven] Gerrard experiment.
“You only put him in the conversation because it’s Lampard the player not Frank Lampard the manager.”
