Seahawks’ Devon Witherspoon reveals troubling Daniel Jones scouting report after pick-six

It’s open season on the Giants’ $160 million man.
Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who had the game-sealing pick-six in Seattle’s 24-3 win on Monday night, joined the chorus of players going after Daniel Jones by revealing the quarterback has a bad tendency the Seahawks exploited in their 11-sack performance.
“We were just trusting the game plan the coach laid out for us. We knew he liked to stare down his first target,” Witherspoon told NFL Network after the game. “So he had his back turned, and a lot of guys was winning their one-on-one matchups up front. Shoutout to our d-line, without them we couldn’t have made the plays we made.”
That a $160 million quarterback is considered a one-read signal caller is a bad look for Jones, but it’s a troubling sign that other players feel they can pile on him.
Several 49ers repeatedly referenced Jones’ salary after their 30-12 win in Week 3, which is usually taboo among professional athletes.
49ers defensive end Arik Armstead then mocked Jones for being a pinata on Monday by posting on X: “Daniel Jones I am so disappointed in you… why would you would throw the ball so quick vs us and then let these people have a career day ? ….. why weren’t we deserving ? 😂😂😂😂.”

Witherspoon’s comments are tame compared to the 49ers remarks, but it shows that Jones is not regarded as a top quarterback by his peers.
The Seahawks seemingly bottled up Jones’ top target in Darren Waller (three catches, 21 yards) and the Giants were helpless.

It didn’t help that the Giants’ offensive line provided as much resistance as folding chairs.
When Jones did have time, he made mistakes including when he tried to fire a ball to Parris Campbell that Witherspoon intercepted for a 97-yard score that gave Seattle a 21-3 lead in the third quarter.
“Terrible decision, awful mistake,” Jones said. “Can’t afford to do that.”
