Former Spurs SG Josh Primo Suspended 4 Games for Allegedly Exposing Himself to Women

Former San Antonio Spurs guard Josh Primo is being suspended four games by the NBA for “conduct detrimental” after he allegedly exposed himself to women, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Primo remains a free agent after being released by the Spurs last year.
According to Wojnarowski, the NBA’s investigation into the allegations against Primo found that he “engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women. Primo maintains that his conduct was not intentional, and the league did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures.”
Dr. Hillary Cauthen, a former clinical psychologist for the Spurs, filed a civil lawsuit against Primo and the team in November 2022, alleging that the franchise “ignored her repeated reports of indecent exposure” by the 2021 first-round pick.
Primo allegedly exposed himself to Cauthen nine times, first during one of his sessions in December 2021. Cauthen reported the first incident to Spurs management one month later, but she said in the lawsuit that the franchise ignored her repeated reports and instead lessened her role with the team.
Primo denied the accusations through his lawyer, who said his client “never intentionally exposed himself” to Cauthen or anyone else.
Cauthen settled her civil suit against Primo and the team shortly after it was filed in November 2022. However, she also filed a criminal complaint against Primo shortly after filing her lawsuit.
The Spurs selected Primo 12th overall in the 2021 draft out of Alabama. He appeared in 50 games for the franchise during his 2021-22 rookie season, averaging 5.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists while playing primarily off the bench.
Primo had played only four games during the 2022-23 season before being released by the Spurs.
It’s unclear whether any teams have expressed interest in signing the 20-year-old this offseason.
