Louisville’s Hometown Hero Jack Harlow is lighting up the internet, again. In case you missed the announcement, Harlow, who is arguably Atherton High School’s most famous recent alum, is featured on a new single soon to be released by global sensation Jungkook of BTS.
On Saturday, while the Louisville music scene was focused on bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera and Falling In Reverse who were headling the Louder Than Life four-day music festival at the Highlands Festival Grounds, Korean popstar Jungkook was headlining a different festival, the Global Citizen Festival in New York City.
During the New York City festival, a teaser video was screened setting the stage for “3D,” a new solo track from Jungkook featuring Harlow.
Here’s what to know about the new single:
When is ‘3D’ by Jungkook and Jack Harlow being released?
Fans don’t have long to wait to listen to “3D,” the new solo track from Jungkook featuring Harlow. BTS’ label BigHit Music has confirmed the collaboration will be released Friday at midnight in the United States. (That’s 1 p.m. Korean time if you’re curious). If you can’t wait, the official trailer for “3D” is live on YouTube and features a clip of Harlow and Jungkook engaged in a game of chess.
What did Jack Harlow say about the collaboration with BTS member Jungkook?
There has been a fair share of messaging going on between Harlow and Jungkook on social media and, as you might image, has set the web abuzz.
On Wednesday, on Harlow’s X, formerly known as Twitter, page, the Grammy-nominated hip hop artist and actor posted a photo taken of Jungkook wearing a State of Kentucky necklace. That same day Jungkook uploaded a picture posing with Harlow which said “Touched down in Kentucky! (Reality: on the MV set.)”
The South Korean superstar’s post seems to have been in response to a message sent by Harlow on Sept. 24 which read “I’ll fly u from Korea to Kentucky.”
Any hints about what ‘3D’ will sound like?
Jungkook’s record label BigHit Music described “3D” as a “pop R&B track with clever expressions of feelings toward an unattainable person from the perspectives of first, second and third dimensions.”
The song is the singer’s second solo single release following “Seven,” (feat. Latto) his debut foray as a solo artist, which arrived back in July. Additionally, Jungkook has hinted there will be a mini-album release in November.
