Man Utd icon tells Jadon Sancho to ‘be a grown-up’ as Erik ten Hag spat escalates

Manchester United icon Mikael Silvestre has waded into Jadon Sancho’s spat with Erik ten Hag, urging the attacker to ‘grow up’.

Ten Hag reacted furiously to Sancho’s statement though, threatening disciplinary action against him. As Mirror Football exclusively revealed on Monday, Sancho has now been exiled from all first-team areas at the club’s Carrington training ground.

He has even been forced to eat with the academy players, but is still refusing to apologise to Ten Hag. Silvestre though believes that it is up to the attacker to make amends and called on him to start acting like a grown-up.

“The problem with players is because they haven’t been educated this way. When you’ve been living in the football world all your life and now suddenly you think that social media is the way for you to communicate rather than internally,” he told bettingexpert.com.

“I’m sorry, you’re a grown up, you take the meeting with the manager and you speak to him. There’s no need to speak to your entourage, your agent, your family. You can take your advisor to the meeting if you feel more comfortable.

“But you need to go and have this conversation. It’s valid for all businesses, so it should apply to football as well. But because we’re in a bubble, we can sometimes forget the simple behaviours.”
