Former Iowa State football star Brock Purdy’s cleats showcased in Pro Football Hall of Fame
Purdy #Purdy
Former Iowa State football star Brock Purdy always puts his best foot forward on the field, but now a pair of his cleats will grace the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The cleats that Purdy wore during the San Francisco 49ers’ win in Week 1 this season have made their way to Canton, Ohio. That game, when the 49ers were pitted against the Pittsburgh Steelers, made Purdy the first quarterback in NFL history to win his first six regular-season starts.

The Arizona native is also the first quarterback to throw at least two touchdown passes in each of his first six regular-season games. The memorabilia joined last year’s jersey that Purdy wore in each of his first two home starts when he was then the first quarterback in history to win his first three career starts.
Purdy was “Mr. Irrelevant” in last year’s draft class, which is a nickname coined for the last pick in the annual NFL Draft. He took the football world by storm, going from third-string to first-string and winning seven consecutive games as the starter. He sustained an elbow injury during the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles on January 29, but recovered in time for this year’s season opener.
“From Mr. Irrelevant to Hall of Fame relevant,” the Pro Football Hall of Fame posted on social media. A game ball is also on display at the museum.
The 49ers have won their first two games this season, including a road win last week against the Los Angeles Rams. They face the New York Giants at home on Thursday night (Amazon Prime Video has the exclusive TV rights to the game).

The 23-year-old found success off the field during the NFL offseason when he announced his engagement to now-fiancé Jenna Brandt in early July. Brandt formerly played collegiate volleyball at Iowa State and UNI in Cedar Falls.
“My Jenna girl forever. I can’t wait to be your husband and grow together in Christ. Here’s to forever babe. I love you JB!” the Arizona native captioned a series of photos on Instagram.
