Reguilon 7, Onana 4: player ratings from Manchester United 1-3 Brighton | OneFootball
Onana #Onana
Manchester United’s poor start to the season was extended on Saturday afternoon as they fell to a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat to Brighton, with the south coast club now recording a win against the Reds in each of the last three seasons.
United have just six points from the first five games and are now off to a worse start than last season and Erik ten Hag will be worried by some of the things he has seen in the first month of action.
The Old Trafford faithful were treated to a brilliant start to the game, with United looking dangerous with each attack in the first 20 minutes. They were unlucky not to take the lead.
But when Brighton scored roughly halfway through the first half, the game completely changed and the visitors ran out deserved winners in the end.
Andre Onana – 4 It was always going to be a big ask to replace David de Gea after 12 years but thus far, the Cameroon international is struggling to live up to the hype.
Diogo Dalot – 5 Created a half-chances in the final third.
Victor Lindelof – 5 Shaky at the back.
Lisandro Martinez – 5 Does not compliment Lindelof very well – it’s more noticeable in some situations.
Sergio Reguilon – 8 On a personal level, he will be happy with his first United outing. United’s best player on the day.
Casemiro – 4 Continuing to struggle this season. Hard to tell if it’s him or the lack of structure around him.
Scott McTominay – 5 Definitely added a bit of steel and legs to the midfield.
Christian Eriksen – 6 United’s most creative spark in the final third.
Bruno Fernandes – 6 Did well more than he didn’t.
Marcus Rashford – 6 Unlucky not to score at least one goal today.
Rasmus Hojlund – 8 Almost the perfect debut for the Danish international but his second-half equaliser was ruled out by the VAR. Unlucky.
