The Eagles’ unstoppable QB sneak with Jalen Hurts greatly limits their RBs’ potential in fantasy football

Jalen #Jalen

Look, there aren’t nearly enough quality running backs in fantasy football to quibble about any particular player’s foibles. You take what you can get — that is, whoever can give you a relatively solid performance.

But after seeing that the Philadelphia Eagles will continue using their unstoppable Jalen Hurts quarterback sneak — especially near the goal line — anyone who manages an Eagles running back might want to consider other options … if they can.

During Thursday night’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the Eagles were content to let D’Andre Swift do all the work between the 20s. Managers had to be glowing at seeing the holes one of the NFL’s best offensive lines was creating for Swift. But when Philadelphia reached the goal line, it didn’t hesitate: It was time to punch it in with Hurts with a sneak play no defense has shown it can consistently stop.

For those keeping track, in both instances that the Eagles found themselves at the one-yard line, they went right to Hurts for a basic push. Without hesitation. Which, from a football perspective (not fantasy) — they should be doing!

So, yes, it’s nice that Swift amassed a 100-yard rushing effort. But Philadelphia has a much better play in mind for scores, limiting what Swift is capable of achieving for his managers. Most RB1s are getting that golden opportunity to punch it in. I have a hard time believing any Philadelphia tailback will get many chances to do so. It’s just food for thought.
