Ottawa County health officer fears imminent firing, asks court for aid

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI — Ottawa County Health Officer Adeline Hambley has filed an emergency request with the Michigan Court of Appeals, seeking an expedited hearing due to what she believes is an imminent threat to her employment.

In the filing, dated Sept 1., Hambley’s attorney Sarah Howard argues the currently scheduled oral arguments on Oct. 11 could come too late due to “new acts of retaliation and indications that the board is attempting to drum up a sham case” to fire her client.
