Mark Antony: S J Suryah Reveals How Thunivu Star Ajith Kumar Got Him A Role In The Film

Antony #Antony

Actor Vishal is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Mark Antony. He will be seen alongside S J Suryah as two gangsters who follow a code of ardent discipline, especially when it comes to the ladies. The film is slated to release on September 15. While S J Suryah seems like a natural fit in the action sci-fi, he apparently received the role after an intervention by Ajith Kumar.

3 things you need to know:

  • S J Suryah was last seen in Bommai (2023).
  • The film has been directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
  • It will be released on September 15.
  • How Ajith Kumar helped S J Suryah get a role in Mark Antony?

During a conversation with Galatta, Suryah revealed how he told Adhik Ravichandran to come back with a different story after a pitch. While he’d liked the energy, he felt that the story was too akin to Hollywood films, which he was not interested in. He concluded that Adhik was told the same thing by the Thunivu actor himself, who encouraged the filmmaker to make a bigger film. That’s when Adhik came up with Mark Antony.

“When I told him to put that same energy into another story, it took four years to happen and has now been made as Mark Antony. He (Adhik) also shared how Ajith told him the same thing and encouraged him to make a big film,” said Suryah. Moreover, the VidyaaMuyarchi actor had vouched for Suryah and told Adhik about him. “Ajith sir told Adhik sir about me. After that, he went to Vishal sir and worked it out.”

When did Mark Antony’s trailer release?

The trailer for Mark Antony was launched by the Kaithi actor Karthi as well as the Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati on September 3, 2023.

From what can be seen in the trailer, Mark Antony is a blend of several genres. While it has the making of a gangster drama, it seems to have a strong balance of comedy. With the theme of time travel and revenge tropes, Mark Antony also has the tropes of action and science fiction.
