Hurricane Idalia may be at Category 4 strength at Florida landfall – US NHC

Aug 29 (Reuters) – Hurricane Idalia could strengthen further into an extremely dangerous Category 4 intensity when it makes landfall at the Big Bend coast of Florida on Wednesday morning, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said late on Tuesday.
The Category 2 hurricane on the five-step Saffir-Simpson wind scale was located about 125 miles (200 km) west of Tampa, Florida packing maximum sustained winds of 110 mph (175 kph), the Miami-based forecaster said. (Reporting by Deep Vakil in Bengaluru; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
