Russian official releases video of fire, smoke in Pskov

STORY: Pskov’s regional governor Mikhail Vedernikov published a video shot from a residential area showing smoke rising from a fire in the distance as the sounds of sirens and an explosion ring out.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video, but was unable to independently confirm when it was shot.

There were no injuries according to initial reports, Vedernikov said on Telegram,

Tass news agency, quoting emergency services, said four Il-76 transport aircraft, long the workhorse of the Russian military, were damaged at the military airfield.

Reports on Telegram channels said anti-aircraft systems were in action around the city, located close to the borders of Latvia and Estonia.
