Man flees into parkland after allegedly grabbing nine-year-old girl at Forster beach on NSW Mid North Coast

A young girl escaped the clutches of a menacing middle-aged man on the NSW Mid North Coast on Monday.
The nine-year-old was walking along the road by Pebbly Beach in Forster, when a man in his 40s allegedly grabbed her by the wrist.
The man in his 40s allegedly approached the young girl in broad daylight, as she walked along Head St towards Cross St about 3pm.

“She resisted, breaking free from the man’s hold and ran off,” NSW Police said.
“He was last seen fleeing into nearby parkland.”
The nearby foreshore parkland is part of Bicentennial Park, which includes a playground and family picnic area.

The girl told one of her parents about the incident, and police commenced an investigation.
Police are looking to locate a man in his 40s with a tanned complexion and a large build, between 160cm to 170cm tall, who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
“He was last seen wearing a navy-blue hooded jumper, beige pants, and black shoes,” NSW Police said.
Anyone with information, or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
