NO breakthrough in Highlands yet as Michael Beale’s Rangers bid to make inroads into Celtic and St Mirren at the top of the Premiership table.

The tie falls slap bang in the middle of their delicately-poised Champions League play-off battle with PSV Eindhoven.

The Gers are on the road to Dingwall for an early start up the A9 with Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off against Ross County.

Early starts have been notoriously tricky for the Light Blues in recent seasons and Dingwall has not been the easiest of destinations for them in recent years and Malky Mackay’s Staggies haven’t lost at home since mid-April.the Viaplay Cup and a league triumph over struggling St Johnstone.

  • It will be held in the Global Energy Stadium.
  • Referee for the game is David Munro with Greg Aitken on VAR.
