Marjorie Taylor Greene posts fake Fulton County Jail mugshot: ‘I stand with President Trump’

As Donald Trump was booked into the Fulton County Jail Thursday night, Georgia U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a fake version of her own mugshot.

Greene wrote on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter: “I stand with President Trump against the commie DA Fani Willis who is nothing more than a political hitman tasked with taking out Biden’s top political opponent. “Persecution, not prosecution.”

She later called Trump’s real mugshot “the photo that will win the 2024 presidential election. The American people will not stand for communism in America.”

Asked earlier this month if she was considering a U.S. Senate run, the Republican told the AJC that depended on whether Trump is elected in 2024 and whether he takes her with him to Washington.

“I haven’t made up my mind whether I will do that or not,” said Greene (of a Senate run). “I have a lot of things to think about. Am I going to be a part of President Trump’s Cabinet if he wins? Is it possible that I’ll be VP?”

As Trump sat out the first GOP presidential debate on Wednesday, Greene was in Milwaukee where his primary opponents met on stage. Citing polls showing strong support for Trump, she said he had “already won” another term, the AJC reported.

Greene on Thursday spoke briefly to the crowd of Trump supporters gathered at the jail, The Associated Press reported.

“I’m telling you right now, regular Americans are watching this, and they are disgusted and they’re outraged,” she told reporters.
