Investigators believe Robinson set a fire on July 24 at the Mayfair laundromat on Elm Road NE in the Golden Point Plaza.

The man wanted as a suspect for setting fire to a laundromat in Howland Township has been arrested while allegedly shoplifting $1,342 worth of goods from the Walmart in Bazetta Township.

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael D. Robinson of Warren was arrested by Bazetta Township Police Sunday morning after Walmart employees say he left the store with a full shopping cart without paying.

When police found Robinson hiding behind a dumpster, they learned he was wanted on an arson charge filed by the Ohio Fire Marshal.

Investigators believe Robinson set a fire on July 24 at the Mayfair laundromat on Elm Road NE in the Golden Point Plaza. Dispatchers were told that flames were coming through the roof.

Fire investigators posted security images of a person they believed was responsible for the fire and offered a reward of up to $5,000 by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee to encourage witnesses to come forward.

Robinson, who was scheduled for a video arraignment on the arson charge in Warren Municipal Court on Monday, is now charged with theft as well.
