Hoddle talking twaddle – Ange silenced his critics in Scotland and he’ll do the same in England | OneFootball

Hoddle #Hoddle

Glenn Hoddle has stuck the boot into Scottish football by saying that Ange Postecoglou’s strategy of football won’t work down south as good as it did in a ‘one team league’ Ironically, Hoddle forgets that Man City have won five of the last six Premier league titles.

The former England boss said there is no challengers to Celtic at domestic level. It will be interesting to hear the thoughts of theRangers supporters on this one!

Scottish football is admittedly not the best and yes, Celtic don’t face as big a challenge as they should, but it’s still a terrific achievement to accomplish what Ange Postecoglou has up here, due to the pressure he was under.

For instance the 2-2 draw with Brentford on the opening day of the campaign will have been seen as a decent result for Spurs. Up here a Celtic manager would be under pressure with a similar result because of the loss of two points. That’s the difference.

Ange, I believe, will thrive in the English Premier League. Hoddle also forgets like most of the Scottish press pundits did with Ange, and that is that he’s an accomplished, vastly experienced coach.

He won major honours in the Australian A-League and managed his nation at the World Cup finals. Not forgetting he led Australia to glory at the Asian Cup. And Hoddle would be well aware of John Barnes, his former England teammate or even Liam Brady who played for Arsenal. These two celebrated footballers from England’s top league both had stints managing Celtic and both were major flops! Yet Ange Postecoglou won five from six trophies and left Celtic with a much better squad than he inherited from Neil Lennon.

Put that together with his success at Celtic and Ange is an accomplished and experienced coach deserving of much more respect than Hoddle is showing him. Idiotic comments from folk like Glen Hoddle are just a remainder of the arrogance towards outsiders from the overhyped EPL. Ange will be doing his upmost to prove doubters like Hoddle wrong. That is in no doubt.

And remember he faced a similar situation in his early days at Celtic, with Alan Brazil mocking him on talkSport and Hugh Keevins claiming he knew what ANGE stood for – Absolutely Not Good Enough.

Ange Postecoglou shut up his critics in Scotland and he’ll do the same in England.
