K-Pop sensation BTS is back with their latest and most personal album – ‘BE’ (Deluxe Edition). In a grand virtual press conference, RM, Jin, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook suited up in style as they got candid about their album, the new roles they took on in the creation process and more.Getting the show on the road was RM, who apologised for SUGA’s absence at the event, saying, “SUGA couldn’t be a part of the conference as he is recovering from surgery.”Speaking about the album, RM said, “Just like Dynamite, all our candid thoughts are in this album. We in fact decided to release this album before releasing ‘Dynamite’. We took ARMY and the fans through the process with our videos. It feels like we made this album with the fans because we live-streamed so much of this on YouTube.”

This time around, the band-members took on various roles. One such role was Project Manager (PM) that was tasked to Jimin. Opening up about his new role in executing this album, he said, “I was the music PM (Project Manager) of the album. Actually SUGA suggested that I take the role. I just took the opinion of the members and delivered it to the staff, that was all I did.”

V, on the other hand, took on the role of Visual Director and shot the promotional concept images. Candidly sharing his experience about going behind the lens, V said, “We really wanted to show really meaningful visuals to our fans. ARMY and my band helped me with this process. We took candid photos while out on a trip and that’s where I got the idea of what we should put in the music video.”

The boys recently sent fans on social media into a tizzy when they released some concept photos ahead of the album launch. V gave full credit to RM for suggesting the idea that they create concept photos and task each one to decorate their rooms that gives insights into their personalities.

“We tried to show people in their 20s just having fun,” Jin said.

Jinmin shared his thoughts on the album and said, “We hope this album will bring comfort to people and if people can relate to it, then it would mean a lot to us.”

For the music video ‘Life Goes On’, Jungkook took on the role as director. Admitting he was a little “embarrassed” with his new title, Jungkook said, “I like taking videos so I was tasked with directing the ‘Life Goes On’ video. I wanted to emphasise on simplicity. We talked about the personal sides that we wanted to show and I tried to bring that in the video. It was exciting to know that my work is in this music video and it helped me realise a dream that I want to make more videos.” ‘BE’ consists of a total of 8 tracks: lead single ‘Life Goes On’ along with ‘Fly To My Room’, ‘Blue & Grey’, ‘Skit’, ‘Telepathy’, ‘Dis-ease’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Dynamite’. The album contains the band’s emotions and ruminations they had throughout this year, and the story of “us” continuing the existential journey. That is also the reasoning behind the album’s title, BE, that stands for “to be” or “existence” and does not abide by any form.
