The City players then lined up to collect their medals from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and other dignitaries before captain Kyle Walker lifted the trophy.

However, the medal queue was briefly stopped by Grealish, who took time out to speak to a visually impaired girl, who was stood next to Ceferin in a heartwarming moment.

City boss Pep Guardiola also made some time for the girl, giving her a kiss on the cheek before making his way to the stage where the trophy lift happened.

Although Grealish’s performances on the pitch are yet to reach the standards of last season early on this term, his conduct off it has been nothing short of exemplary.

The England international has previously spoken candidly on his bond with his sister, Holly, who has cerebral palsy.

He also did a celebration dedicated to young City fan Finlay, who also has cerebral palsy, after scoring during England’s win over Iran at the 2022 World Cup.

Last season’s treble winners were made to work hard for their first ever Super Cup with Youssef En-Nesyri putting Sevilla in front in the first half.

But a deft header by academy star Cole Palmer ensured the clash went to penalties, which City won 5-4 as Nemanja Gudelj striking the crossbar proved to be the decisive moment in the shootout.
