Manchester United to ‘send first offer’ for 27-year-old defender ‘in coming days’ – €30m should do it

Earlier today, it emerged in Germany that Manchester United were now looking to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich.
This comes around the same time as Harry Maguire is completing his transfer to West Ham, meaning a new player is expected to be coming in.
There had been talk of Jean-Clair Todibo being that man, but it appears it’s Pavard that Erik ten Hag wants at Manchester United first, with him now a ‘priority’, according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper back up the claims from Germany, and add their own information on the matter, explaining that it was the Dutch manager who asked his superiors to go after the 2018 World Cup winner.
While Pavard has never ‘hidden his desire of discovering a new league’, he also didn’t want to push the subject too much with Bayern Munich, whom he clearly has a lot of respect for.
Down Manchester United’s end, it’s said they now ‘have to send a first offer’ to the Bundesliga side ‘in the coming days’, with the belief that an ‘agreement can be found at around €30m’.
That’s a bit less than what the Red Devils are said to be getting for Maguire, which many fans will agree is quite a good deal.
It also does help that Pavard’s contract in Bavaria expires next summer.
