Weird Barbie was a reject in the movie, but you can have her for home

Reject #Reject

Every kid had one.

The Barbie doll with marker or crayon on her face – and sometimes her limbs – with a crinkled outfit and hair shorn by her owner.

Now, Mattel is making Weird Barbie a part of its expanded “Barbie” the movie inspired collection.

Kate McKinnon played Weird Barbie in the movie that debuted in theaters in July 2023. Weird Barbie was a doll with raggedly cut short hair with spikes of color, marker lines on her face, a mismatched pink outfit and green snakeskin boots.

The Warner Bros. Pictures film “shattered multiple box office records while surpassing $1 billion at the global box office and seeing Greta Gerwig make history as the first woman to reach the milestone as a solo director.”

The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

In June of this year, Mattel launched movie toys from UNO, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, MEGA and Barbie.

This expanded collection features looks worn by Barbie and Ken in the movie along with a pack of Hot Wheels Barbie Corvettes.

Weird Barbie can be pre-ordered for $50. The doll is made-to-order and must be pre-ordered by Aug. 18, 2023. It is expected to ship in May 2024.

“If anyone knows anything about keeping it weird, it’s Weird Barbie, a breakout character from Barbie The Movie.

Our doll version wears an outfit inspired by one you’ll see in the feature film, a bright pink dress with colorful artwork and puffy sleeves, and green snakeskin boots. She also features short tousled hair and markings on her face to emulate a doll that’s been played with just a little too much.”
