In Chainsaw Man Chapter 136, Yoshida sets Denji up with a classmate of his whose behavior is seriously concerning. So who is the mystery girl in the latest Chainsaw Man chapters? Is she a Devil?

The unknown girl (let’s call her Mystery Girl for now) is one of Yoshida’s classmates if we trust his word.

Yoshida claims that the girl has a crush on Denji, which is why he sets them up for a date.

At the end of Chapter 136 of the Chainsaw Man manga, the Mystery Girl enraged fans by touching Denji without his consent.

By Chapter 137, Denji accepts her ridiculous dare due to her promise to have sex with him.

They then proceed to go on an unorthodox karaoke date culminating in a baseball bat fight against many unknown opponents.

This is all very strange and confusing. So who could the girl be?

The manga has yet to confirm the Mystery Girl’s identity or even her name. As such, there are multiple theories circulating amidst fan communities.

Is the Mystery Girl a Devil?

Of course, this being Chainsaw Man, our first thought about any strange newcomer is that they could be a Devil.

Due to the girl’s inappropriate behavior towards Denji, some readers theorize that she could be a Devil associated with one’s fear of sexuality or assault.

On the other hand, the Mystery Girl doesn’t have the horrifying appearance of most Devils, so she may well be a normal human Yoshida employed to distract Denji.

However, if we want to go with Devil theories about the Mystery Girl, there are a few possibilities.

Firstly, she could be a Hybrid like Denji or a Fiend like Asa. She could also be one of the Four Horsemen; remember that Makima looked attractive enough, and her behavior towards Denji was similarly abusive.

We’ve waited for a long time to see the Death Devil. Now that the Hunger Devil, the War Devil, and the Control Devil are all accounted for, nearly every sketchy character is a Death Devil candidate.

So far, all Horsemen have been young women with characteristic eye designs.

The Mystery Girl’s posture sometimes reminds us of Fami, but we can’t see many similarities otherwise.

Since the newcomer has yet to show a knack for killing, we cannot be sure if she’s the Death Devil.

Her outrageous karaoke, however, does seem to attract a hoard of men wielding baseball bats, whom Denji has to knock out.

Right now, it’s nearly impossible to pinpoint the truth, but some readers wonder if the men could be Chainsaw Man fans whom she seeks to eliminate.

Fans have grown quite protective of the odd Asa and Denji pairing. The Mystery Girl, with her disregard for Denji’s autonomy, has earned the readers’ ire, so many would love to see Asa save Denji.

If the Mystery Girl is, indeed, a Devil, it would make sense for Asa to arrive at the crime scene sooner or later.

But even if the girl is human, we wouldn’t be surprised if Asa showed up to complicate things.

Previous chapters have hyped Asa’s ascent to celebrity status as an up-and-coming Devil Hunter.

A fight with the Mystery Girl would be very satisfying, especially if she were the Death Devil, one of Asa’s Horseman “sisters.”
