Bleach: 10 Giselle Gewelle Cosplays That Look Just Like The Manga
giselle #giselle
Giselle Gewelle has a sweet appearance in the Bleach manga that fans love to replicate through cosplay.
In Bleach’s final arc, called The Thousand Year Blood War, few characters stand out as much as Giselle Gewelle. In or outside of a fight, this character usually has a big smile on her face. Though sugary sweet on the outside, this member of the Quincy Sternritter group is actually hiding a vicious personality.

Her power, called “The Zombie”, is also one of the most terrifying abilities, as it allows her to gain complete control over her enemies. She proves to be so powerful that she even manages to get the best of a Captain in the Gotei 13. Many people have chosen to cosplay as Giselle and have captured the adorable look she has throughout the manga.
10 Oh? You’re Approaching Me?
In this photo, Giselle seems to be lost in thought, or her eyes are focused on someone or something, with an expression daring them to get closer. @17_knmk is not looking at the camera, giving the viewers the impression that this is not just a photo, but a scene in which Giselle was caught in the middle of something. Although the color white symbolizes purity, the window separating Giselle from the lush life on the outside suggests that she is a character who is more closely associated with something darker. Her uniform acts more like a sheepskin that hides Giselle’s real personality.
9 Commitment To The Craft
@94_61_86 expressed a huge amount of enthusiasm for cosplaying this character. In her tweet, she stated that she was excited to cosplay as Giselle, who she playfully referred to as “Gigi.” Although she mentions that it was hot, it is impossible to tell from her photo.

She shows the same kind of admirable commitment to the craft that every cosplayer has. Her cosplay is so cute and gives viewers a glimpse of what the character would look like in a real-world setting.
8 Deep Blue Eyes
The most captivating part of this picture by @cos_askr_photo is her stunning eyes. The deep blue is striking, especially since Giselle is typically seen wearing the black and white uniform of the Sternritters. The soft green and blue colors of the grass and glass in the background compliment these eyes yet makes the white of her outfit pop even more. The pose she is in makes her have a non-threatening exterior, which is fitting for the bubbly persona Giselle shows everyone else.
7 A Heart-Framed Face
This cosplay of Giselle by NekoHoshi-Cosplay is adorable. The hair on top of her head is shaped like a giant heart, showing off the picture-perfect makeup that was utilized within. She has a fittingly devious smile on her face as if she is planning something. This is certainly an expression that most fans would expect to see the real Giselle make. Even though the viewer has no idea what this Giselle is plotting, her pose maintains the adorable innocence, as if all she wants to do is to play a harmless prank.
6 A Close-Knit Group
Giselle claims on multiple occasions that she feels a strong attachment to the other girls in her small group of friends. However, the blurred faces of her comrades symbolize that her feelings are not entirely wholesome, as she proves multiple times in the series that she isn’t afraid to use anyone, friends included. Another nice touch in this picture of @ebisu_ok is the fact that she is positioned right behind Bambietta Basterbine, and her cunning smile indicates that she’s just waiting for Bambietta to slip up so that she can strike. This is probably why the picture is fittingly named “To death I love.”
5 Playful Innocence
Hime stars in a photo that showcases a playful and cute Giselle. Nothing about this picture is threatening at all, so it perfectly matches what the Shinigami must have seen when they first encountered Giselle. Thanks to her cute exterior, the Shinigami severely underestimated her and were easily provoked into attacking her thanks to her reverse psychology. The background is also fitting, as the lack of green plant life suggests the kind of terrible power Giselle is hiding. Hime seems to have a perfect understanding of Giselle’s character and has really brought the character to life.
4 A Relaxing Giselle
Ringo shows fans a side of Giselle that never really has a chance to be seen in the manga, given the fact that she spends most of the final arc in the midst of a battle. This version of Giselle seems more relaxed, and the subtle white glow from both her outfit and her environment gives her a softer look. Readers never had a chance to see her take a break, raising the question of what kind of person she would be if there was no war.
3 Adorably Goofy
The caption that @hiyo_piyo_maru uses for this picture is a very in-character “fight me if you’re willing to face the consequences” kind of statement. Although cute, each female member of the Sternritters is brutal when it comes to fighting in a battle.

Giselle doesn’t seem to take most of her opponents seriously though, having no qualms with making silly faces like this one and taunting any enemy who is willing to listen. The only people who make her mad are those who look down on her.
2 A Hidden Dark Side
Of her entire female friend group, Giselle is by far the most twisted member. Not only does she take pleasure in the sadistic powers she uses to fight others, but she sees weak comrades as a means of making herself even stronger. Even her friends meet an unfortunate end at her hands. The way that @kaname_vibl’s hair and leggings blend perfectly with the background gives her a creepy vibe. Her expression is also perfect, as it accurately captures Giselle’s feelings towards other people, no matter who they are.
1 A Friendly Greeting
KOBATO portrays a kind-looking Giselle, who seems to be in the middle of a friendly gesture or greeting. She seems to be particularly sweet and angelic in this picture thanks to the blending of the soft white color of her clothes and background. KOBATO’s look is reminiscent of what fans thought the Quincy would be like: pure humans who just wanted to protect others by defeating Hollows. Unfortunately, many of the Sternritter members are completely different from what fans expected.
