‘Deadpool 3′ first look
Ryan Reynolds has shared a first look at “Deadpool 3,″ featuring a photo of the Merc with the Mouth alongside Hugh Jackman in a comics-accurate blue-and-yellow Wolverine costume. The film is expected to be set before the events of “Logan” and will now reportedly feature Jennifer Garner as Elektra for the first time in two decades, sparking rumors other “X-Men” characters could have roles such as Halle Berry’s Storm and Garner’s ex-husband Ben Affleck as Daredevil. (Charlie Cox is also set to play Daredevil in an upcoming Marvel/Disney+ series with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk.) “Deadpool 3,″ still rated R despite joining the MCU, is scheduled to be released Nov. 8, 2024. Transgender Miss Universe contestant
A transgender woman will compete in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant after being crowned Miss Netherlands over the weekend. The Daily Mail reports Rikkie Valerie Kolle, 22, became the first transgender woman to win Miss Netherlands, receiving the crown Sunday from her predecessor Ona Moody and reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel of the U.S. “I DID IT!” Kolle wrote on Twitter. She will be the second transgender contestant in Miss Universe history after Angela Ponce competed in 2018; this year’s pageant will be held in El Salvador in December. Transgender contestants have been eligible for Miss Universe since 2012.
‘Napoleon’ trailer
Joaquin Phoenix is French commander Napoleon Bonaparte in the first trailer for “Napoleon,” directed by Ridley Scott. The film, a reunion for the “Gladiator” team, will focus on Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Joséphine (Vanessa Kirby). “Napoleon,” which will also capture some of history’s most famous battles, will be released in theaters on Nov. 22 and then stream on Apple TV+.
