Along with attending cookouts and fireworks, you might want to fuel up your car at Sheetz on the Fourth of July.

Expect to wait in line, however.

For one day, the Pennsylvania convenience store chain is dropping gas prices to $1.776/gallon for some fuel types to commemorate the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.

The promotion starts runs all day or while select fuels are available.

The discount applies to regular, E85 (flex fuel), Unleaded 88, mid-grade and premium fuel grades as well as Ethanol Free (E0) fuel at all 675-plus Sheetz locations. Diesel is not included.

The discount comes at a time when gas prices are dropping. The national average is $3.50 for a gallon of regular gas, according to AAA.

“We hope this discount helps our customers keep a little more change in their wallets as they travel to celebrate the Fourth of July with friends and family, with an obvious nod to our nation’s birthday,” said Travis Sheetz, the chain’s president and CEO.
