Chet Holmgren transformation: How much weight did he gain in a year?

Chet #Chet

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren has yet to make his NBA debut due to suffering a foot injury while trying to defend LeBron James during the Seattle Pro-Am game in August 2022 and is now gearing up for Summer League.

Holmgren, 21, was listed at 195 pounds when he went second overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. OKC released its Summer League roster on Saturday and the rookie has seemingly gained a significant amount of weight this past year.

He is now 13 pounds heavier than when the Thunder drafted him and even looks a bit more muscular.

His thin frame has been a worrisome subject, but a 7-foot-1 big man with the skills of a guard is the epitome of a “unicorn.”

Now that Holmgren weighs 208 pounds, it’s clear that he has the ability to keep getting bigger and stronger.

Holmgren might not reach the drastic physical transformation Giannis Antetokounmpo accomplished, but he already looks bigger than Kevin Durant.

Adding him to the young and stacked OKC Thunder is a recipe that will continue to improve over the next five years.

Holmgren will complete the Thunder’s “Big 3” alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, but will first need to shake off the rust.

OKC will once again participate in two Summer League tournaments, starting July 3 in Salt Lake City.
