John Gotti III Responds To Joe Rogan’s Comments After Floyd Mayweather Fight

Joe Rogan #JoeRogan

John Gotti III has given his response to longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s criticism about his exhibition match with Floyd Mayweather and the post-fight brawl.

Gotti and Mayweather shared the ring on June 11, but things would get out of hand down the stretch. Referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight in the sixth round, and many believed it was due to excessive holding on Gotti’s part. It’s even what Rogan believed led to the finish as he stated on his podcast.

Gotti has since taken to his Instagram Stories to tell Rogan that his fight with Mayweather wasn’t stopped due to holding.

“It was mutually called for both of us cursing at one another,” Gotti said. “Those are the only two moments I clinched … you still the man though Joe.”

Gotti later insisted he never aimed to rebut Rogan’s criticism.

“Never rebutted Joe Rogan’s critique,” Gotti said. “Just telling him what actually happened and never demanded rematch. Floyd’s money-hungry people’s first words to me in [the] locker room [were] rematch because money is their God.”

Gotti was suspended by the Florida State Athletic Commission for six months due to his part in the post-fight melee. After Bayless stopped the fight, Gotti went after Mayweather and the two started swinging. Members of both camps ended up brawling inside the ring and outside of it. The good news is, no serious injuries have been reported from the brawl. Mayweather has not been penalized.

Time will tell if Gotti will get a rematch with Mayweather given the attention that was put on the exhibition match following the post-fight fisticuffs.
