SYRACUSE, N.Y.- After a mainly dry, sunny and warm weekend in CNY, a widespread soaking rain is in the forecast for Monday and Monday night.
Will the rain we anticipate be enough to not just make the grass any greener, but also will it be enough to make up for our overall deficit of rain since the month of May?
First here is a look at the latest Drought Monitor Map from the NIDIS(National integrated Drought Information System, drought.gov):

Now looking at both the month of May AND June so far here are the numbers for rainfall for Syracuse:

Now looking at our next weather system, there will be not one but TWO areas of low pressure moving closer to CNY.
The main low positioned over Lake Superior and southern Canada will remain stationary.

The low across the Ohio River Valley will be slingshottted around the main low towards Syracuse and the Northeast during Monday.
This means the whole area of rain will be SLOW-MOVING and allow for MORE rainfall to occur over the same areas again and again.
We are also watching the POTENTIAL for some FLASH FLOODING in CNY on Monday and Monday night.
