His best pal Noel Edmonds is currently competing on this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

And Mr Blobby shocked Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes on Monday’s This Morning as he created havoc on set during a surprise appearance.

In the short time the bulbous pink figure was on air, he had managed to trash the studio, break a glass pineapple ornament and get into a play fight, causing Phil to brand him a ‘delinquent’.

Following a dramatic entrance, the children’s TV favourite, who rose to fame on Noel’s house party, collapsed to the floor after being wounded by Noel’s Swap Shop co-host Maggie Philbin.

Maggie had delivered a strong punch after being annoyed at him trashing the place just out of camera shot, with Mr Blobby falling to the floor in agony as he clutched his ribs.

But an eagle-eyed Phil picked up on it and said: ‘Did you just punch him? I think he’s winded.’

Maggie tried her best to restore calm in the studio as she spoke about how Noel, 69, was doing in the jungle, with Mr Blobby echoing her sentiments with the occasional; ‘blobby, blobby, blobby’.

She said: ‘He is a people person, I’m not surprised he’s getting on with people.

‘It will be interesting he’s prepared carefully for the things you can. He knows about the trials and things you usually do. Things you can’t prepare for, something not to do with you kicks off, will be interesting to see how you work with something.

‘He loves surprising people. but other way round no… he’s a very clever person and has thought about that [the jungle] carefully.’

Noel’s manager of fifty years John, revealed why the TV veteran decided to join this line-up this year, after previously turning it down.

‘It’s true he’s been asked to take part for many years. Noel doesn’t do reality TV but this year he thought “why not it’s a challenge”.

‘He decided to do it, I’m so pleased. I am a big fan of show and delighted he is doing it. He didn’t even want to do Deal or No Deal, but I persisted.’

John also touched upon Noel’s proposition of giving up showbiz if he is crowned king of the jungle: ‘Well you know Noel. He says lots of things tongue in cheek, I don’t know, we will have to wait and see…’

I’m A Celebrity continues on Monday night on ITV at 9pm.
