Sergio Perez was eliminated from the Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying after suffering a bad accident.
With just over 11 minutes left in Q1, the Mexican driver lost control of his car, crashing into the barriers and causing the first red flag.
Checo had already warned during the week: “The Monte Carlo circuit gives you no room for error” and boy did he fall victim to his words.
Perez was opening his second flying lap in Monaco when he lost control and crashed at Sainte Devote.
“Damn. I crashed, I crashed,” the 33-year-old told Red Bull on the radio.
Cameras captured the dramatic moment on the Austrian team’s pit wall, who were in disbelief at what they witnessed.
Checo Perez will now have to come from behind at the Monaco GP, a circuit where it is very difficult to do so.
