Piers Morgan has reignited his long-running feud with Denise Welch with an explosive rant of insults.

The 58-year-old TalkTV star has had a war of words with the Loose Women panellist, 65, for a number of years and he once again went public with his thoughts on the telly personality today.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter took aim at Denise today, branding her a “vile, spiteful hypocrite”.

Piers also didn’t pull any punches when throwing his two pence in on the dramatic Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby “feud” and Phil’s subsequent axing from This Morning.

The former ITV star – whom Phil has joined in a long line of casualties who have fallen victim to what Piers called the ITV ‘vipers nest’ – took the opportunity to slam Denise and bring up their long-running feud.

Writing in his column in The Sun, Piers launched a tirade at his former employer as he recalled his time working for the broadcaster.

“I met a lot of good, decent people when I worked in that environment, and took some of them with me when I joined TalkTV,” he began, before first taking aim at his former colleague and GMB weatherman Alex Beresford.

“But there are more than a few I would now cross continents to avoid, like GMB’s deputy stand-in weatherman Alex Beresford who begged me for media advice then tried – and failed – to make a name for himself taking me down on my last show with a pre-rehearsed attack speech.”

Then he turned his attention to former Hollyoaks actress Denise, writing: “Or the likes of Loose Women’s Denise Welch, a vile, spiteful hypocrite who makes a fortune from preaching about the need to ‘be kind’ but likes nothing better than spewing hateful foul-mouthed abuse at people on Twitter.”

While Schofield’s sudden exit came as a shock to many, it seems that several other ITV stars were not as surprised at the outcome, with Piers speaking in favour of Phil this week, admitting that he feels much sympathy for the former host of the iconic ITV programme.

Piers can relate to the situation which Phillip finds himself in now because he went through the same ordeal with ITV bosses.

In March 2021, Piers stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain during a heated debate about Meghan Markle – a public figure who he has publicly berated for several years.

Days after he furiously stormed out of the Good Morning Britain studio, Piers dramatically quit the show after thousands of viewers complained about his concerning remarks about the Duchess of Sussex, following her televised and highly controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey about the Royal Family.

Piers quit the show after six long years beside his co-host alongside Susanna Reid.

At the time, ITV released a brief statement, confirming that TV presenter would not be making a return to the show.

“Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add,” the statement read.

And following Phillip’s decision to step down from his long-running role on This Morning, Piers has claimed that history is repeating itself as he admitted that he felt much sympathy for Phillip – especially given the fact that he wasn’t honoured with an emotional send-off despite fronting the show for 21 long years.

Addressing the drama, Piers called out the ‘savages’ who are working in ITV.

Appearing on Times Radio, TalkTV host Piers said: “Anyone who thinks daytime telly is full of smiley, nicey, happy clappy people; I think they are beginning to realise it is infested by a pack of savages.

“There is nothing more ruthless than the way talent, as we so laughably get called in TV, get treated when the plug gets pulled.”

Although Piers and Phillip endured a twenty year feud, the pair put their drama to bed in recent years, with Piers being one of the loudest voices who have publicly supported the fallen ITV star in recent days.
