Fans gear up for the big game with tailgating traditions

Carolina Hurricane fans gear up for Thursday night’s big game against the Florida Panthers.

As the tailgating crowds fill the PNC arena parking lot, they look forward to a fun night, tailgating and enjoying game traditions like Hamilton the Pig.

The nearly 200-pound rally symbol is helping fans gear up for the big day.

Back in 2019, Hamilton went viral when the Canes made their last eastern conference final. Now he’s forever a part of the Hurricane’s many fan traditions.

“We’ll be out there probably from 5 to 7 with everyone in the tailgate parking lots. If you want to keep an eye out on his social media platforms, he’ll be posting where he is,” Hamilton owner.

Hamilton is expected to be outside for a while as the crowds at the PNC grow.

The deeper the Canes make the playoffs, the more intense the tailgates get.

Fans have been outside as early as 2 p.m. and they believe It also sets the tone before going inside to cheer on the hurricanes.
