Rafael Leão’s return to Milan’s lineup was a needed boost heading into this Champions League semi-final clash with rivals Inter.

His absence was pivotal in the first leg, and the pre-match build-up piled plenty of pressure on the Portuguese to be the difference-maker.

Yet Leão has struggled to impose himself on the game, as Denzel Dumfries has put on a man-marking masterclass on the winger.

That was until the Milan star was inches away from cutting Inter’s two-goal aggregate lead in half.

Shortly before the break, his close-range effort somehow fizzed just wide of the post after beating goalkeeper André Onana.

It left everyone – including Olivier Giroud – speechless.

But if anybody can find a way to break free of the shackles and carve out a chance to blow the tie wide open, it is the young superstar.
