NHL playoff parlay picks May 7: Bet on Hintz and Nylander

NHL fans are treated to a three-pack of playoff games this Sunday, and we’re drawing from the latter two for our parlay.

The pregame narrative: Dallas and Seattle have lit up the scoreboard in all of their games this season and we’re expecting tonight’s contest to follow suit. We’re also backing Roope Hintz and William Nylander to register a point apiece.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: DAL/SEA over 5.5 goals + Hintz over 0.5 pts + Nylander over 0.5 pts (+297)

DAL/SEA over 5.5 goals (+100) : The Stars own the fifth-best unders rate in the NHL (55%), but we’re inclined to go the other way for Game 3.

Both of the first two games between these teams went over 5.5 goals and that has a lot to do with Dallas’ offence. The Stars have scored four goals in four straight games and are a team capable of lighting the lamp at will.

Five straight games between the Kraken and Stars have had six-plus goals dating back to the regular season, with an average of 7.6 goals scored in those matchups.

Other parlay picks

Hintz to record 1+ point (-177) : Hintz has been one of the most productive players this postseason with 13 points and five goals in eight games.

The Finn has found the stat sheet in all but two postseason games and had an assist in Game 2 vs. the Kraken on Thursday. Hintz also put up at least four shots in each of the first two games of this series meaning he’s generated plenty of chances.

Hintz has registered a point in three of his five games against Seattle this season.

Nylander to record 1+ point (-200) : It’s been tough sledding for Nylander the past few games — at least from the perspective of getting on the scoresheet. He’s been held pointless in four straight games and also hasn’t scored a goal since Game 2 against Tampa Bay.

So why are we betting on him tonight?

Nylander leads the Leafs in shots this postseason (36) while his 20 scoring chances against the Panthers are the second-most on the team. He’s putting himself in positions to succeed regularly but just hasn’t been getting rewarded.

Don’t expect Nylander’s pointless drought to go on any longer.
