Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard could not answer questions on Mason Mount’s future this summer.
The England international has yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge after lengthy talks throughout the season.

Mount has been at Chelsea since the age of six but the Blues are now at risk of losing him
Mount will see his current contract expire in the summer of 2024, which will mean he will enter the final year of his deal next season.
And rather than let him dwindle down his remaining months, Chelsea will look to sell the 24-year-old this summer should an agreement not be found in the following weeks.
As the man who catapulted Mount into stardom at Derby and then Chelsea, Lampard has admitted he is clueless over what will happen to the academy graduate.
“I don’t know the answer to that, it’s a conversation between Mason and the club, so I don’t know,” he explained.
“It’s not final at this point and we’ll have to see because those conversations are ongoing.
“It’s a shame for me personally because I think everyone knows how I feel about working with Mason and I like to think he feels the same about me.

There’s plenty of love between Mount and Lampard
“And we could have done with him in the games we’ve played already this season.
“But the bigger picture is something that’s going to become clearer in the next weeks and months, and that will be the club and Mason together having conversations.”
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Mount this summer with Jurgen Klopp desperate to overhaul his midfield options.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have also been linked while contract talks have ground to a halt at Chelsea, where there have been problems over the length of the deal and salary demands.
Despite Lampard’s close affiliation to the midfielder, the Chelsea coach has admitted he has no sway over what decision Mount will make.
He added: “At this point it’s not my opinion that will be the resolution.

Mount will see his contract expire in 2024
“It will be the opinion of the club and the opinion of Mason, so that’s between them.
“I think my opinion is pretty clear, I don’t need to spell out what I think of Mason as a player, but it’s not my one to get into, that’s between them.”
Mount is unlikely to play again for Chelsea this season due to injury, meaning he might have already played his last game for his boyhood club.
It is just adds more misery to an already forgettable season for the Blues, who have sacked two managers this season in Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter and sit 11th in the Premier League.
