Kevin Durant and Chris Paul showed loved to Westbrook after Clippers vs. Suns Game 4
One of the most accomplished players in the entire NBA, LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is also one of the most criticized players in the NBA. This is no secret, and something even his opponents recognize. Speaking with reporters after Game 4 between the Clippers and Suns, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul defended Westbrook.
“Russ has been resilient his whole life,” Durant said. “He comes to work, don’t say much, just come hoop. When he retires, people are gonna really tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now it’s the fun thing to do, to make a joke out of Russ. But the way he’s been playing since he got with the Clippers, he’s shown everybody who he really is.”
Chris Paul also weighed in, adding, “I feel like the only people that do that too are the people who don’t know basketball, you know what I’m saying? And don’t know what it’s like to compete. I know for me, Russ is one of my closest friends, you know what I’m saying? And so people that do that, talk crazy probably wish they could be in that situation, you know what I mean? So, yeah.”
While Durant and Paul have been competing with Westbrook on the court in this series, both players clearly have a lot of love and respect for him.
