BRIDGEPORT — Volunteers celebrated Earth Day on Saturday by cleaning up Beardsley Park and along the Pequonnock River.

The cleanup happened throughout the morning. CT’s Beardsley Zoo also had tables set up during the day to give people information connected to the environment, including how to help the planet and endangered species.

The event was one of several cleanups throughout the state.
