LIVE: Officials in Louisville, Kentucky, give update after deadly bank shooting, leaving 5 dead

The Louisville Metro Police are saying that five people are dead and six are injured after a shooting Monday morning in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

One of the people injured is an LMPD officer who was transported to a hospital along with the others injured.

Police say the shooter was found dead at the scene. Police did not say whether or not they were counting the shooter among the five dead or not.

Around 9 a.m., the Louisville Metro Police asked people to stay away from an area of downtown Louisville as they responded to an incident.

They said at that time there was “an active aggressor” in the 300 block of East Main.

The shooting happened at the Old National Bank building. That is next to Louisville Slugger Field.

Mayor Craig Greenberg also tweeted asking the public to avoid the area as police respond to an active situation.
