Boston Celtics All-Star wing Jaylen Brown hit a major incentive mark in his contract on Thursday night.
Many players around the NBA have incentives built into their contracts, especially those who sign nine-figure deals!
For Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, he has many incentives built into his current four-year, $106 million contract and playing in his 65th game of the season Thursday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, Brown hit a massive incentive mark.
According to ESPN front-office insider Bobby Marks, Thursday night puts $2 million in Brown’s pockets, as he gets about a $518,000 bonus for playing in 65 games this season and an extra $1.55 million for playing in this many games and making the All-Star Game.
Marks also mentioned that Brown can still make an additional $1.1 million in incentives this season based on if he he wins any of the league’s end of season awards or is named to one of the three All-NBA teams, as well as how far the team advances in the playoffs.
Jaylen Brown is one of the most versatile wing players in the entire NBA and he has had a tremendous season alongside Jayson Tatum in Boston.
Heading into Thursday night’s game against Milwaukee, Brown ranked ninth in the league in scoring and third in field goal percentage (min. 1,300 attempts).
A win over the Bucks on Thursday night would be huge for the Celtics, especially since they are still trying to catch the Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings. Milwaukee entered the night three full games ahead of Boston for the top-spot in the East.
This game also decides who will own this season’s tiebreaker over one another, as the Bucks and Celtics will not play a fourth regular season game against one another this season.
