Bills free-agent target Calais Campbell signs with Falcons

The Buffalo Bills’ pursuit of defensive lineman Calais Campbell has ended as he has signed with another club.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Campbell has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons.
A report late last week stated that Campbell was set to have a free-agent visit in Buffalo in the coming days. Other teams mentioned to be in the fold were the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets.
Campbell was released this offseason by the Baltimore Ravens. In 14 games played in 2022, he notched 5.5 sacks. He last hit the double-digit sack totals in 2018 with 10.5.
Per Rap Sheet, the 36-year-old had a conversation with Falcons owner Arthur Blank for 40 minutes prior to agreeing to his new one-year deal.
In addition, CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson noted that Campbell evidently signed before even making his free-agent visit to New York. However, no mention of Buffalo was made so it’s unclear if Campbell ever made his way to western New York:
