An unforeseen knee injury ended a middleweight bout on the UFC 286 prelims Saturday in London.
While in the clinch against promotional debutant Christian Leroy Duncan, Dusko Todorovic planted his right foot down in a way that resulted in a fight-ending injury at 1:52 of Round 1.
Both fighters were visibly disappointed, but shared a moment of respect after the fight’s end.
Todorovic (12-4 MMA, 3-4 UFC) attempted to find consistent results after a TKO win over Jordan Wright in October. He instead falls to 1-2 in his most recent three.
Duncan (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) wins his UFC debut after he signed with the promotion earlier this year. Duncan was the Cage Warriors middleweight champion prior to his debut Saturday.
