Arkansas basketball continued the upset parade in March Madness on Saturday in Des Moines, as the No. 8 seed Razorbacks beat the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks, 72-71, to clinch their third consecutive trip to the Sweet 16.
Second round: No. 8 Arkansas 72, No. 1 Kansas 71
Arkansas battled back from a 12-point halftime deficit to shock the Jayhawks with late go-ahead free throws, but it was Razorbacks coach Eric Musselman who stole the show after the game. The fourth-year Arkansas coach celebrated the upset by taking his shirt off when the clock hit zero.
Arkansas will face the winner of the No. 4 UConn vs. No. 5 Saint Mary’s game in the West region’s Sweet 16. That game will be in Las Vegas.
