Philip Cocu’s future as the Derby County manager is in doubt after a late goal from the substitute Macauley Bonne gave QPR victory.
It was a result that left Derby one point off the bottom of the table, after the EFL decided to cut Sheffield Wednesday’s point deduction for breaching spending rules to six points, and Cocu said afterwards: “No one can be happy with the position we’re in.”
Wayne Rooney almost opened the scoring for Derby in the second half when he hit the post. But he was taken off ten minutes from time, with Cocu explaining that Rooney was still feeling the effects of not being in full training during his recent period of self-isolation, and QPR secured the points with two minutes
